Crimson Skies 6 Weeks. Dec-1-to-Jan-15 *BIG UPDATE*
Crimson Skies Six weeks is a MontanaRaiders.com sponsored project. It has been begun by myself, the administrator of these forums and website.
I started Montanaraiders.com and associated forum to attempt and gather together as many fans of Crimson Skies as possible. Uniting those who still played, and attempt to draw in new players.
My project as of now is a 6 week campaign to bring on new players, reinvigorate the old ones, and at the least, get new material out there!!!!!
Projects include a a JORDAN WEISMAN INTERVIEW! Radio show program, a upload of the old crimsonskiesuniverse website, a Pacific Sourcebook of fan origination, and fan contributions by ANYONE.
ANYONE who joins the forums can contribute!! It is not only appreciated, in the six weeks you get prizes!!!
First, the Six weeks runs from December 1st, to January 15th. The extra 2 weeks being because of the Holiday season in which it runs through, when many people travel for a week at a time.
Below is the list of events and prizes for them:
November 29th will be a PC Crimson Skies game. This will be an attempt to gather ANY AND ALL of those who like to play the PC game, to get together, and figure out how it works. This is when we will figure out and make sure your computer is set right, and everything works.
First prize is a Airfix Dogfighter CD. It is an older (Circa 2000) game, and if CS runs, it does! Included will be a link to a website specializing in it, and there tips can be found if it don't run.
December 1st is the official kick-off. Although it won't be much more than a ribbon-cutting
December 4th is the beginning of the first contest. Any of the old members, and any new members, will be put into the pool for a Crimson Skies miniature.
December 5th. I'll release the "South Pacific Sourcebook", for public consumption. It'll be mostly text, with a few doctored photo's in it. Also released will be my reworked and revised versions of "Crimson Steel Ground combat" and "Crimson Bar Rooms and Red Headed Dames", which will involve personal combat, with a minor RPG upgrade.
December 6th, I'll upload a batch of new stuff to my CS site, including my 4 modified CS Aircraft (Fiat CR40, Sanderson-Potez Heavy fighter, a turrented Warhawk and I am working on Patterson's HA77 Warwolf).
December 11th will mark the beginning of a Q&A session with JORDAN WEISMAN! Members can post questions on the forum, and depending on arrangement. Regardless Mister Weisman will answer the questions after the submission period ends on the 20th.
Keep it up folks! Here's your chance to speak to the creator of Crimson Skies!!
Of course some rules will abound, and will eb posted on the introductory thread.
December 12th, will be the start of a Crimson Skies character and Unit contest. Players can create units and characters for them. At the end of 2 weeks, they will be put up for vote, and the winner will recieve a prize of miniatures. I will release "The Lakota Wars" essay and campaign, which will involve the Lakota Raids of '36/Lakota War/Great Lakota Raids, etc, war in the Disputed Territories.
December 13th will be another PC game competition, up for grabs will be another CS Prize (Ain't got the exactications worked out yet though)
December 19th, a forum contest will begin, going two weeks, which will involve Unit Logos, Noseart, and doctored/newly created photographs, which will run 2 weeks.
December 20th another PC game with contest.
December 26th, will mark a contest beginning then and ending on the 16th of January. This will be a character RPG/Unit RPG linear thread interaction. There will not be any official rolls, interactions, etc. I will be the GM, people will interact with the game world by posts, and each other, and may use created units and characters for it. I will have a line in mind, and if people stray off, the wrong path, I'll direct them back. But alot will depend on how "Noting" you are. If you're supposed to go to XXXX Bar, you might end up talking to the busty...er....lovely barmaid, and ignore the drunk in the corner. Wise? Maybe not.
Some of the prizes MIGHT vary. However that is the scheduale!
Welcome to the Crimson Skies!
