Hi guys and gals,

we did play Crimson Skies again at the Phoenix Con in 2017 and we're planning on doing so again this year.
This is just a heads-up for the long-due flight report, but as most of you probably experience themselves: RL got in the way.
Nevertheless, I'll dig out the record sheets and photos from October and write up a short resumée of the latest exploits, hopefully within the next few days.
Many happy landings!

Hey everybody,

here's my flight report I promised. Unfortunately I could only recover a single picture, but at least the record sheets were still there. This was originally posted on Boardgamegeek here https://boardgamegeek.com/article/28452107
Would be mighty nice if you head over there and give it a thumb :)

The Phoenix Con 2017 again saw some air action, even though there were numerous Battletech tournaments and competitions.

The main flight book is somewhat sketchy but here's the freeze frame from the end of the big fight.

As you can see we played on the river map with a few extra tokens to mark the bridge pillars as additional obstacles (tokens have already been removed). Planes and pilots alike were determined randomly, but as all of the participants had played Crimson Skies before, we did use rockets right from the start.

The skirmish started with just Maik and me, him piloting a Swordfish (Avenger Mini) and a King Cobra (Brigand Mini), me a Cazador (Raven Mini) and a Fury. In round 10 Markus joined the fight commandeering a Buccaneer (Bloodhawk Mini) and a Thunderbird (Firebrand Mini).

Maik's King Cobra was downed in turn 12, while I had to abandon the Cazador in round 14 (see left wing!). Replacements were a Nightingale for Maik, and an Aguila for me.

Image

Round 15 was also the time when our last combatant arrived: Marshall brought a Devastator and a Mako (Vampire mini) to the fight.

Due to time restraints we weren't able to finish the battle, but we all had a good time and are looking forward meeting new challenges in 2018!
Many happy landings!
