My Crimson Skies Map & Flags

Made a airplane? Zeppelin? Something in between? Here's where to put it. (Meant for any new skins/etc.etc/ and not actual new aircraft stats)

OK then, this weekend I will give it another try if I can find the appropriate software!

(Last time I had GIMP and Daz {free versions} and I failed completely to grasp either)

May I suggest then that you try using the trial versions of the programs I mentioned at the beginning of the tutorial, that way, there will be fewer barriers to overcome.
But, I would suggest that you use older variants, as programs tend to change GUI's and core functions over time and this tutorial was made several years ago.
I would suggest using Adobe Photoshop CS2 and 3D Studio Max R9 . . I think these were the program variants I was using back then.
.
. .
. . . Hmm, apparently you can download CS2 for free now.
R9 3DS Max is tricky to find any reliable links to the old software.
The annoying thing is I have an old demo disk with it on it but I can't upload it for you guys, you might want to torrent it.
Failing that you could try your luck at using the latest trial version from Autodesk, but I can tell you now that there have been significant changes to how things look and where they are located in the interface and menus.
But if you need more comprehensive assistance I can provide you with that. [I could always redo the tutorial to accommodate the latest programs]

When I originally made this tutorial, I went to great pains to make it as simple and straight forward as possible, I even tested it with my partner, who is a borderline technophobe [or at least she was then] and while she didn't complete it, she did demonstrate to me that she understood the instructions easily enough, so I have taken that on board as a positive.

That CS2 link does not provide a valid registration code so you cannot complete installation. Scouring the Adobe website provides no relief for the problem as CS2 isn't on their download list at all.

https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2_downloads This page has all the links and Reg numbers, but they do not work reliably. But I do finally have CS2 installing.

Damn that is a shame, but I am glad that you were able to find an alternative solution.
but I just realised that we are hijacking this thread so I think we should move this over to my tutorial thread.

If you're curious, here's a look at the Brigand model. :)

I can't believe I missed that thread!

For the quebec flag, have a look there viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1416

I strongly suggest the Carillon-Scaré Coeur (Carillon Sacred Heart)....
