Conversion / Plasticard question

Hi all,

Got a quick question for the conversion specialists: What type of plasticard do you use for CS conversions? I just bought 2 Mustangs B and want to make a Yak-3 out of them but I am not sure if I should buy 1mm plasticard of another type.

Anyone has some experience with that?

Thanks in advance.

Honestly with the current price of the plasticard any cards I can get my hands on is acceptable, besides thickness is irrelevant unless you can see both sides.
If the card is too thick, just file/sand it down to the right thickness.
As for Yak 3, why not just get an existing model? The cost of the model is about the same as a single packet of card, although some places do offer individual sheets, that might be cheaper.

* * Note * *
1mm is probably too thick for 1/72 scale, 0.4mm or 0.5mm might be more manageable

Sorry for the confusion Fox, I am talking about 1/200 Mustang B and the Yak-? of the airman gazetter.

So is 1mm still OK?

P.S. Prices in Germany are more than acceptable...

Oh ok then, same thing applies though, unless you are able to see both sides of the card thickness is of little consequence.
still smaller is better with those little models, so maybe 0.5mm [1mm is too thick at the best of times]
