Neo-Tanuki's Planes-Seer and Bandit

Postby Neo-Tanuki » Thu Mar 14, 2013 4:41 am

Hey all,

I just finished painting a couple of fighters. The first is a Sikorsky Seer (proxying for a Blackflag Nightingale) in the colors of my new pirate band, the Grim Reavers:

The second is a Fairchild Bandit painted for my friend Sharon, and represents the fighter of Nina Marsh, the smuggler queen from "Behind The Crimson Veil":

I hope you like them. I plan to have more posted in the days to come!

Wonderfully done. The Bandit in particular really makes me envious!

Thanks! The Bandit was a happy accident. I'd painted the stripes using GW Mephiston Red, but it looked a little too Soviet-style for my preference. I went over the red with Iyanden Yellow, and suddenly the color popped out very nicely.

Beautiful. I envy your painting skills...

I had a painter do some of mine....tried some....and sucked royally...I know you get better over time, but it seemed like my learning curve was going downhill

Grant, this represents about 12 years of perseverance through some very, very bad results. I would be embarrassed to show you my painted planes from 10 or even 5 years ago. I had to paint many unsatisfactory miniatures before I started to get the hang of things.
