[Rules Q] Houserule & Autogyro Characteristics

Postby Carthaginian » Fri Apr 05, 2013 10:55 am

In one of my other threads, a question about what characteristics were appropriate for autogyros came up.

Right now, I would like some input- which characteristics do YOU think are appropriate for autogyros?
I'll take anything- canon or houserule!
I'll post what I think when I get back from work.

As I changed the "handling" for Special Characteristics" for bombers in Aeronaut, I also thought about which SC suits for autogyros and which not.

I think most of the original SCs from BtCV work well for Autogyros.

Here is my list from the base data file, which SCs are alowed for Autogyros:
- Nitro Injectors
- Superior Engine
- Inferior Engine
- Linked Ammo Bins
- Light Stick
- Heavy Stick
- Poor Landing Gear
- No Landing Gear
- No Zeppelin Hook
- No Radio
- Superior Range
- Inferior Range
- Poor Throttle
- Flotation Gear
- Improved Cockpit Visibility
- Reduced Cockpit Visibility
- Cramped Cockpit
- Self Sealing Fuel Tanks
- G-efficient Cockpit
- Poor High-Speed Handling
- Fire-Linked Weapons
- Dog Basket
- Difficult to Bail
- Wooden Airframe

Everything else makes no or less sense to put it an autogyro.
I hope this helps you a bit.

I don't see why 'Accurate Bomber' wouldn't make sense... especially for an aircraft that can drop bombs from near stall speed.

In my opinion is an autogyro not good suited for bombing runs, since it has maximal 4 Rocket/bomb slots.

I was looking at it from the ground attack angle.
They would be excellent at dropping small bombs with high accuracy very close to friendlies.
