I just reread that first post. It looks like I might be trying to say there wasn't a synchronize r gear on the Aircobra, there was, and it had 2 .50 Mama duce's behind it, a 37mm auto cannon, 2 Mama duce's, and 4 .30's in the wings. Open up with all that and you've got a lot of authority there! Too ...

BTW, the engine in the P-39 was behind where the pilot sat. The nose in front of the pilot is empty, so LOTS of room for say a HUGE gun. :D

The major advantage of a pusher design is that it provides much cleaner airflow, therefore better lift over the wings. The zep docking thing would be an added benefit, and could lend designers toward favoring it as more convenient and workable design. A big draw back as I see it is that there's noth...
